More than 200 tons of rock, gravel and sand need to be blasted, crushed and processed to yield just one carat of gem quality diamonds. The good thing about classically designed rings is that you can still wear them tastefully in the next three decades. Studies show that a large number of men and women have developed allergic reactions to the common precious metals, so they are starting to opt for titanium-set jewelry.
Explanation of Cut, Color and Clarity of This Diamond
Cut Quality Ideal cut refers to the angles and proportions of a diamond that satisfy very precise mathematical formulas. The result is that the the ideal cut diamond internally reflects most light from one mirror-like facet to another and disperse and reflect it through the top of the stone. This results in a display of brilliance and fire, thereby placing ideal-cut diamonds higher on the quality pyramid than deep or shallow-cut diamonds.
Color E color diamonds are virtually colorless. E color grade is very rare. The naked eye will not detect any presence of color. E color grade is indistinguishable from D without instrumentation.
Clarity SI1 clarity diamonds are slightly included. SI1 diamonds have some inclusions visible under 10x magnification but not easily visible to the naked eye. A diamond with this grade of clarity is an excellent choice for someone on a limited budget.
