The secret of a diamond that is properly cut is that it returns a measurably greater amount of light, which is displayed as brilliance, dispersion and scintillation. If you want a piece of jewelry with a flawless, perfect gem, then go with the synthetic gemstone. As a gemstone collector/investor, as stated before, my preference is for natural gemstones, but as an adornment in jewelry a synthetic gemstone makes for a gorgeous ring, earrings or pendant at an affordable price.
Explanation of Cut, Color and Clarity of This Diamond
Cut Quality Diamonds cut to ideal proportions are made to reflect the most amount of light. This results in a display of brilliance and fire, thereby placing ideal-cut diamonds higher on the quality pyramid than deep or shallow-cut diamonds. Ideal cut diamonds have most intense brilliance of all diamond cuts.
Color An E color diamond is extremely rare and slightly less expensive than a D but is so similar that most people won’t be able to tell the difference. You pay a serious premium for an E color diamond. Diamonds of this color grade will appear colorless even when observed face down.
Clarity The stones of SI2 clarity have inclusions which are fairly easy to see under a loupe with 10X power magnification. Such inclusions may be visible to an unaided eye depending on their location. SI2 clarity diamonds of G or H color look nearly perfect when mounted. For those looking for near perfection these sure come close.
