The jewelry and industrial uses for diamonds created a demand for the stones and also prompted the creation of imitations which mimic the qualities of a diamond with some differences. To preserve the integrity of the piece, antique and period jewelry connoisseurs want original stones, or, if stones have been replaced, at least stones cut in the manner typical of the period. They make great gifts for Christmas, birthdays, weddings, showers, and basically any gift giving occasion.

Explanation of Cut, Color and Clarity of This Diamond
Cut Quality Diamonds of premium cut are almost as good as ideal. While nature determines the color and clarity of a stone, diamond cut is dependent solely upon the skill of the cutter. Premium cut diamonds may be close to the ideal cut proportions and look just identical. Most people cannot distinguish between the two. However, there is a slight difference in quality and reduction in price over ideal cut diamonds.
Color E color diamonds are virtually colorless. E color grade is very rare. The naked eye will not detect any presence of color. E color grade is indistinguishable from D without instrumentation.
Clarity SI2 clarity diamonds are slightly included grade two. SI2 inclusions in diamonds are easily visible under 10x magnification. These inclusions may or may not be discernable to the naked eye depending on their location on the diamond, but these diamonds still presents an excellent value.
